I am going to grow a beard despite the fact that I find it uncomfortable, itchy and Bec hates it when I do.
I'm doing it to raise money and awareness of 'Beards of Hope' starting on 1st June and running until 31st August.
When Bec and I lost Jonty and Cooper in September 2013, 'Bears of Hope' were the organisation that provided us with invaluable support and we became aware that there are many others that have been through similar experiences.
This message is also an opportunity to thank the many men that took the time to offer their condolescences and support. You will never know how much it meant to me to hear you say "Sorry, mate. I'm here if you need".
Beards of Hope is a fundraising and awareness campaign for the Bears of Hope organisation that provides support for parents that go through pregnancy and infant loss.
Every day in Australia....
6 babies are born still.
3 babies die within the first 12 months of being born.
A miscarriage occurs every 3.5 minutes.
Any donation for this cause will be gratefully received.
Your donation is 100% tax deductible. All donations to this fundraising site are electronically wired directly to Bears of Hope and a tax deductible receipt is emailed to you immediately.

We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
